Application:

The CMA Series expanded aluminum foil filter is an impingement type panel filter designed for use in residential and light commercial HVAC applications to remove airborne particulate and dust from the airstream. Its thin filter depth is meant to fit smaller applications, from 1/8” – 7/16” thick. Popular applications include range hood exhaust fans, electronic air cleaners, ceiling vent fans, central air conditioners, computer ventilation systems, room air conditioners and other electronic ventilation barriers. The CMA Series doubles as an EMI/RFI Attenuator, as it can provide electromagnetic and radio frequency interference for sensitive electronic applications.

Construction:

The CMA Series filter uses an aluminum frame to enclose the media pack. The bonded media pack consists of multiple layers of aluminum foil slit and expanded to several different size openings. The frame is made with mitered corners and is secured with pop-rivet(s).

Filter Cleaning and Coating:

1. To clean a dirty filter, rinse it with a moderate stream of warm water. High-powered steam cleaning or chemical dips are unnecessary and not recommended.
2. The CMA Series filter is not supplied from the factory with filter adhesive coating. If desired, it may be sprayed before installation with Filter Coat, a water soluble adhesive and detergent. AMFCO does not sell Filter Coat nor any adhesive.
